UK Energy expertise
More than four decades of experience in the hostile North Sea environment have made the United Kingdom a centre for Oil and Gas production. The British industry is sustained by a dynamic environment of research and development in which global energy corporations, small and mid-sized companies, as well as important universities and academic research institutions all play an active role.
The 6th edition of the UK Energy in Brazil will have 8 simultaneous workshops taking place in the morning and in the afternoon, with participation of speakers from the main British and Brazilian companies, research centres and governmental agencies of the energy sector. The following topics will be covered:
The morning workshops aim to provide an in-depth look at UK expertise and innovation in each of the following areas:
- Offshore Construction & Maintenance
- Subsea Technology
- Marine Innovation
- Maximising production of mature fields
In each of the morning sessions, UK companies with expertise in those areas will be presenting their innovative technology, to discuss the challenges and opportunities within the market.
The afternoon workshops will also be simultaneous, covering the following topics:
Financing Opportunities for the Energy Sector
This workshop aims to raise awareness of the Brazilian companies for the UK funding available for energy projects. UK Export Finance (UKEF) will speak about their line of credits and guarantees for Oil and Gas and Energy projects in Brazil. In addition, the workshop will give an overview of the Green Finance funding options available in the UK.
Environmental best practices
This workshop aims to understand Brazil environmental licensing process and share UK’s environmental best practices. Also, to identify areas for UK-Brazil technical co-operation.
This workshop will discuss Brazil’s needs and challenges on decommissioning and how the UK’s can best support this demand.
Biofuels & Biogas
The objective of this workshop is to share best practices between Brazil and the UK on Biofuels Biomass and Biogas policies. Also, present UK innovation on the sector, identify potential commercial partnerships and areas for policy co-operation through the Energy Prosperity programme.
