Launching ImmerseUK network: Invitation-only lunch
This invitation-only event will see the launch of ImmerseUK, a new cross-sector network for anyone interested in the way that augmented and virtual reality can help drive productivity and economic growth in the UK.
The global market for this technology and content is on the brink of very rapid expansion; with Deloitte predicting that 2016 will be the industry’s first billion dollar year. DigiCapital’s Augmented/ Virtual Reality Report 2015 estimates that the VR market alone will be worth $150 billion by 2020.
It will be a challenge for UK businesses to compete in a market where much of the core technology is being developed in the US, China and Korea.
There is world-class expertise, research and innovation taking place across the UK in industry verticals such as transport, health, films and games. However, there is little exchange of knowledge, skill and learning between communities to take advantage of the wider emerging market.
Supported by Innovate UK, ImmerseUK will offer the support that UK business need to make connections, enable knowledge transfer, facilitate collaboration and tap into new areas for growth.
If you want to support the UK in becoming a global leader in the application of immersive technologies including high end visualisation, virtual, mixed, and augmented reality, haptics and other sensory interfaces with data, sign up from 3rd November at www.immerseUK.org.
