The UK and Qatar share a strong and growing trade and investment relationship. In 2015, UK exports to Qatar totalled £2.6 billion representing an increase of 16 percent from 2014, while in the same year, Qatar exports to the UK doubled to reach £2.7 billion. Qatar has invested approximately £35bn in the UK, and there are over 600 UK companies currently operating in Qatar.
Building on the historic relationship between our two nations, the Qatari and UK Governments are working together to host a prestigious, opportunity-led, trade and investment showcase event. The day will focus on our strong commercial and cultural ties and is set against a backdrop of high-level commitment from the British Prime Minister, the Rt Honourable Theresa May MP, and the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, both of whom are committed to strengthening our strategic relationship.
